How To Duplicate CDs
Duplicating your CDs can be a very versatile, easy and cheap way to mass produce your CDs.
- First, check your CD burner. If you don’t have a CD burner, then you need to get a CD publisher. Most people will use a disk drive for their computers. There are plenty of disk drives to choose from. You can also use an internal CD burner that comes with your computer. You can use an external CD burner, which would connect through your Firewire cable or USB cable. Another option is to skip the computer all together and opt for a CD publisher. By using a standalone CD duplication system or CD publisher, you can get more convenience in creating copies of your CDs.
- Purchase the recording equipment. It is important for you to find the right kind of disks that are compatible with kind of equipment you have. You don’t have to spend more money on CD-Rewritable disks. A CD-Rewriteable disk is one that youi can overwrite on. You can often buy the cheaper CD-Recordable disks, at much less. If you buy them in bulk, you can often spend about 10 cents to 20 cents per disk.
- All CD burners will have a burning speed. They can range from 4x, 12, 48x and so forth. This is not random and should be taken into consideration when you are burning your CDs. Your burning equipment will have a maximum burning speed. It will also have a maximum burning quality. When you buy media that matches the speed of your CD burner, you’ll get the best results for your money.
- Next, get the right kind of software. If you’re using Windows XP, you already have some CD burning support. But in order to get the best results, you want to use some software like Roxio, Nero or Alcohol 120. You can purchase this at amazon.com. Each of these pieces of software have their own style. Most people use Nero for standardized use. Roxio is used for personal use, because it is very user friendly. Alcohol 120 is very customizable, but a little more complex to use.
- Duplicate The CD - after you have checked your computer and installed the burning software, you are ready. Just insert the CD into the drive. Open your software, and locate “copy to disk”. After the CD is done, the software will ask you to swap the disk with the one you are copying to. Then follow the on screen instructions. For each additional copy, you just insert another blank CD into the drive.
You can save time and hassle of inserting a new disk for each copy by using a CD duplication machine or a CD publisher. These machines automate the process for you and let you produce hundreds of CD’s at the same time. This saves not only time, but can also save you money in the long run, by not having to outsource or hire someone else to do the job.
