How To Clean A CD Player
Cleaning your CD player is pretty easy as long as you know what it is you’re doing. You’ll need rubbing alcohol, WD40, cotton buds, and a cross tip screw driver.
First, you make sure that there’s no CD inside your player. Unplug the power cable. Next, remove the cover by unscrewing the screws attaching it to the body. Spray some WD40 on the cotton ball and grease those rails. Move the laser and grease the part of the rails just under neath it. Move the plastic cogwheels out of the way. Be sure not to use any real hard force. Take another cotton ball and dip it in rubbing alcohol. Then, squeeze it and remove the extra alcohol. Clean the lens of the laser. Wait a fwer minutes for the alcohol to evaporate. Put the cover back on and tighten the screws. Turn on the player without inserting a CD. If the player is a minisystem, turn on the CD mode switch. Next, you’ll hear a sliding sound, that means the laser is returning to its proper position. Then, put in a CD and enjoy!
