Get The Job You Want With CD Samples

How can CD samples help you land the job you want? It’s very easy. The thing about landing the job you want involves 3 key elements.

  1. You’ve got to have the qualifications, education and experience
  2. You’ve got to have a printed resume and cover letter outlining your education, skills, and work history
  3. You’ve got to convince your prospective employer that you’re the one he or she should hire

If you miss just one of these crucial key elements, you can kiss your job good bye. So, first you want to create your resume along with your cover letter. Your resume should include things such as your education, special certifications, awards, club memberships, hobbies, and any extra curricular activities that pertain to the job. Next, you should also have a cover letter explaining a little about who you are and why you feel you are the right person for the job.

Now, this is where most people stop. They simply hope that they will just get the job. But with CD samples, you will be able to go one step further and stand out from the rest. You’ll be unique in that you are demonstrating your ability to do the job and that you’re providing a CD sample.

With your CD sample, your prospective employers will definitely notice you!

You want to get noticed. You may be competiting with 50 or 100 other people. Do you want to be shuffled aside to another stack with everyone else? Of course not. By creating a video demonstration of what it is that you are able to do, you not only show that you are qualified, but that you are serious about the job.

For example, if you’re a software programmer, you could include a CD sample of several programs that you’ve created. If you’re a draftsman, you could include samples of your drafting projects. If you’re a secretary, you could include samples of your typing skills and also other written material, such as phone scripts and office memos. You could even include a short video clip of you answering phones or giving a small speech.

Almost anyone can use CD samples to boost their value and get attention from prospective employers. Think about how bad you want the job, and how many others are competing with you. One thing about CD samples is that they are hard to throw away for a lot of people. The mass market still holds some kind of value to CD’s and will keep them.

It’s all about the numbers

It’s all about the numbers, and the more prospective employers you contact and send out your CD samples to, the better. That means you’ve got to contact more than just 20 or 30 people. It’s about contacting as many as you can. One hundred or two hundred is not a lot, considering that your conversion rate would be about 1% to 6%. You really want to have your pick of prospective employers, so that you don’t have to settle for anything less than what you really want. By increasing the numbers of contacts, you’ll be able to always have good job offers. Even, if you’re currently working in a good job that you like, it’s always good to send out CD samples to other companies and let them know you exist, just in case.

In fact, it may be to your advantage to send your CD samples to a select few companies about every 3 to 4 months if you’re currently employed. In this way, if something were to happen, you could easily transition to another job almost “overnight”. CD samples are a great way for you to finally get the job you want.
