How to Publish and Print Professional Looking DVDs and CDs

CD Marketing Includes Design

Now that you’ve got your start in the world of CD Publishing and your business is on the upswing, the time has come to make some important decisions. One of the first of these has to do with the CD presentations that you’re going after and therefore the design that you’ll use to make your discs original. What’s important here is that you learn about the various sections of the CD so that you’ll be able to place these designs properly.

  • 1.The Main Printable Area. Like the name implies, this is the section that’s the largest and the one you’ll need to plan for the most. You need to use white ink here as that’s the only kind that will show up.
  • 2.The Mirror Band. This is the smaller area just inside. When you print here, the text will be darker than the original.
  • 3.The Stacking Ring This is the area on the underside of each disc where a small amount of space has been left for packing and shipping purposes. There is a small through here that can make printing difficult.

Remember that as you go further into the world of CD Publishing, you’ll need to know more and more about your chosen field as you go along and this will include something about CD presentations as well.
